Reality and BOYS!!!

So, today I had a reality check! Garet had a Dr. appointment this morning. Nothing is wrong...just a well check! After the nurse weighed him and checked his height....I realized...he's not my baby anymore! He's my little man! I never get teary eyed about this stuff. I try to be content with every stage of my boy's lives, but it hit me and I got a little teary eyed! I even had to leave the room during this appointment!!! BUT, I'm his MOM!!!! Wow, where does time go?
He's 5 feet tall!!! I'm 5'2!!! Are you kidding me? This can NOT be happening! It's too soon! I just gave birth to him and he was 21 inches long and weighed 6 pnds.

And NOW he weighs 102 pnds.!!!!
I don't know why I'm having a hard time with this. This is weird! Weird I tell ya!
He just ate 3 hotdogs! I feel like he's moving out tomorrow!
This is my beautiful necklace my boys gave me for Christmas.
I have a funny story to tell you about my necklace.
Today, Peyton was sitting in my lap at the car wash and he started counting the pretty beads on my beautiful necklace!
1 brain, 2 brains, 3 brains, 4 brains.....etc.....
Excuse me??? Brains??? They are BEADS!!!!
I'm such a girly girl!
How did I end up with burps, boogers and BRAINS?????
God help me raise these BOYS!
My BOYS are my JOYS!!!
Have a great weekend!

A New Recipe...

I had extra orange juice laying around. So, instead of drinking it like a healthy person would do...I make an orange cake!
Orange Cake
1 yellow cake mix
1 vanilla instant pudding mix
3/4 cup orange juice
1/2 cup veg. oil
4 eggs
1 t. orange extract
1/3 cup orange juice
2/3 cup white sugar
1/4 cup butter
Grease bundt pan. Preheat oven to 325. Mix cake mix and pudding mix. Make a well in center of mixing bowl. Pour in OJ, oil, eggs and orange extract. Beat on low for 2 min. Scrape the sides of mixing bowl and mix on low for 4 more minutes. Blend well. Pour batter into greased bundt pan. Bake 50-60 minutes. In saucepan, cook 1/3 cup OJ, 2/3 cup sugar and 1/4 cup butter. Drizzle over cake!
My house smells so good on this beautiful, SUNNY day!

Friday night and BINGO!

Last Friday night, my sweet girlfriends kidnapped me and we went to play some BINGO!
They said they were tired of me moping around!
We don't have a bingo hall here in our little town.
It was a 4H fundraiser at the fairgrounds!
Yes, at the fairgrounds!
It was fun!
If you were sitting by had to be completely quiet!
You know me...I can't do two things at once!
Serious bingo players had to get their glasses on! hehehe!

(I look like crap...remember they kidnapped me...literally!)
We get excited about new things in town!
I think we may need a bingo hall!
Get your dobbers ready!

It was NOT my lucky night!
I needed I30!!! I seriously wanted to hurt that man who yelled....BINGO!!!
Oh well....It was nice getting away for awhile!

Going private....

I had to go private b/c I had a freakin, creepy, wack~o, fruitloop MAN leaving me comments!!! I just wanted girl friends to swap recipes with and I get the WACK~O.

I feel so bad for putting my family out there in blogland!

Please be careful!

So, that's the reason for the privacy!!!!

So, I hope some of you come on back b/c blogging is my hobby!!!

Will you join me in prayer?

Bubba and Andy!!! Good friends...good times!!!

(Bubba is on the right.)
One of my dear childhood friends, Brad "Bubba" Dyess, is in need of your prayers.
Bubba suffered a brain aneurysm on Monday. He's only 36 yrs. old. He suffered the same kind of brain aneurysm that his mother died from 5 yrs. ago! This family is precious to me. We all grew up in the same neighborhood together for 20 yrs. We all went to the same school. Same church. We spent summers growing up at each other's houses. Went to church camp every summer! He wrapped my house almost every weekend! Seriously! I even recall him in green tights for a church play....he was the grasshopper! So many memories!!!!
Bubba is a wonderful person!
Goofy as ever!
Fun loving! A people pleaser! Had a smile that would light up the room!
The girls ALL loved him!
We had a prayer vigil on Wed. night. We handed him completely over to God and his family took him off life support. He's still breathing on his own. His heart is strong, but the Dr. have given his family little hope.
I'm heartbroken.
I can't think. Can't focus. Can't concentrate.
I know that he would not want to live like this.
Please pray God's will for Bubba and his precious family! Please!
Visit ~ You can leave prayers and well wishes!

Hotel Shower Curtains

I've been introduced to Hotel Shower Curtains.
Did you know that you can get a hotel shower curtain at Home Depot?
I didn't know that there was such a thing!
My brother's girlfriend, Stephanie, told us about these!
They are mildew resistant!!!
No more bleaching the plastic shower liner or throwing it away!
Do you have a hotel shower curtain?
Does your regular shower curtain get ALL FUNKY????
Go to Home Depot!

The Days of the South....

This weekend we took the boys to the Civil War reenactment in town.
We had a great history lesson!
(Actually, I learned that I do NOT know that much about the Civil War! I wasn't very good in History!)
I felt like I was visiting one of my favorite scenes in Sweet Home Alabama!
This man was cookin up something good. He didn't invite us to stay for dinner...he barely said "Hello." Old fart!
We visited with a man who had a really big gun! He was VERY friendly and VERY talkative!
We learned ALL about ammunition and gun powder and sharp things that you attach to the end of the gun. You know, boy stuff!!! Blook, guts and killin!
I found myself shopping for a new outfit!
What do you think of my bonnet?
I knew that you would just LOVE it!!!
Off to find me a dress now!
Do you think one of these will do?

The canons have been shaking our house for 3 days now!

This woman was washing dishes in a pan.
Could you imagine really living like this?

We watched a blacksmith make some tools! This was very interesting!

We watched drunk men clean their gun and sing a little song!

And they all road off into the sunset!
It really was a beautiful day!

I missed it and I really didn't do it on purpose...I promise!!!
One more week to indulge!!!

Weight Watchers....Blah...Blah...Blah!!!!

OK people....back to Weight Watchers I go!!!
This is soooooo depressing! I can't believe I'm having to go back!
Back in 2004, after I had Peyton I joined WW and had great success! I lost 28 pnds. and kept it off for 2 yrs. I'm not sure what has happened the past 2 yrs. Half of my weight has slowly crept back on!
You would never know that my skinny little butt was a size 0 in high school! I had to buy little girl kidding! (Yes, I wore Rockies back in the day! I had every color!) What happened?
So, Monday night I went and bought my last 1/2 gallon of Blue Bell Mint Chocolate Chip
icecream and it's all gone! I savored every bite! I've been eating it for breakfast, lunch and dinner!!!
Once I join...I'm serious!!!
That means no firey hot Cheetos!!!
I'm going to have withdrawals!!!
I usually pout for the first 2 wks. and then I'm good!!!
So...bear with me!
Off to my first meeting and to weigh in!!

A Sonic Blessing!

I have a sweet little story to share with you.
Today I treated the boys to Sonic drinks after school.
I pull up to pay and the little drive thru girl says....
"The lady in front of you bought your drinks. She said she didn't know you...she just wanted to bless you today."
How cool is that?
There really are good people in this crazy world.
It was a great lesson for all of us!
A lesson of giving, putting others first & showing God's love!
On the way home, we prayed that God would BLESS that thoughtful lady!
I can't wait to pass the blessing on and bless someone with Sonic drinks!
It was such a HAPPY HOUR!!!!

Rebound that basketball!!!

This is our first season for playing and coaching Upwards basketball.
My husband says it is VERY difficult teaching 4 ADHD five yr.old boys how to play basketball. (This is coming from an ADHD coach!)
This past Saturday was VERY comical! Watching Auburn chase the boys around trying to tell them what to do. Little boys running of the court during the game to give mom a kiss or get a drink of water! Little boys trying to dribble and the ball gets the best of them! At one point, I was yelling....Defense Peyton! The only problem was that our team was Offense!!! I thought my lovely husband was going to KILL me or ask me to leave! I shut up and let him coach!
He ended the game by saying, " I'm off to get the whiskey!"
Peyton says his job in the game is to guard!
Forget dribbling and shooting....he seriously thinks his main job is to GUARD only!
It's sooooo funny!!!
When the ball is passed to him....he ducks!!!
We have LOTS of learning to do!
More guarding!!
More guarding!
(yawn!) "Could you please just get on with it COACH?"

Peyton picking out his game star!
We may have lots of learning to do, BUT...
he's my SUPER Star!!!
So is my husband for attempting to COACH!!!

What a NIGHT!!!!!

Last night, I was fortunate enough to have a girl night during the Superbowl!!!
I have no interest in football...what so eva!!!
I think if I understood it, it would be a different story!
You would never know that I dated the star football player all through HS because I'm CLUELESS!!!
So, Brandy and I took Denise to Olive Garden and the movies for her BIRTHDAY!!!
The birthday girl blowing out her cheap dessert!!! HA!
This was the birthday girls dessert!
A cup full of Andes mints!
What? No cheesecake? No brownie?
Can we say.....RECESSION?????
After dinner, we went to see Bride Wars! Have you seen it?
Very cute movie!
Great chick flick to watch during the Superbowl!
Our favorite line in the movie was when Kate Hudson's fiance called her a....
tall, attractive, hot SMURF!!!
I don't know why we thought this was so funny....BUT, it was!!!
I haven't laughed that hard in a long time!
Good thing we had the theater to ourselves!
10:30 ~ We arrive home safely from College Station.
11:15 ~ Climb into bed. It's thundering and lightening! My favorite kind of sleeping weather!
I LOVE stormy nights!
12:00 ~ Phone rings and my lineman husband gets called out into the storm.
12:00 ~ 3:00 Lots of wind, rain, hail, lightening, THUNDERING and more wind!!!
(No sleeping through this storm!)
3:00 ~ Husband comes back to bed!
3:15 ~ Peyton pees in the bed.
3:30 ~ Get Peyton back in bed.
3:35 ~ Back to bed for me.
4:00 ~ Peyton comes to my side of the bed and says, "Mom, I'm going to turn my light on and play quietly. Is that OK?" My response, "NO!!! It's nighttime! Go back to bed!"
4:15 ~ Peyton is singing and having a party!
4:30 ~ Peyton is talking to his animals! (You've gotta be kidding me!)
5:30 ~ Peyton comes back in to ask if he can get up and play quietly!!! "I DON'T CARE....JUST LET ME SLEEP FOR HEAVEN'S SAKE!!!"
5:40 ~ Alarm clock goes off for Auburn.
6:00 ~ Auburn leaves for work!
6:15 ish ~ I fall asleep!
6:40 ~ Alarm!!! Time to wake up!
