Oh My...Garet turns 11!

It is so hard for me to believe that this child of mine has turned 11! He is definitely growing up and the time is flying by! I need to stop and remind myself often to ENJOY this time in our life because it will be gone before I know it!
Here are just a few scarey things about having an 11 year old...
-The "attitude" is coming on! I dread this!
- I realized the other day that his legs are extremely HAIRY!
- I can wear his shoes now and they are almost to big for me!
Sat. we celebrated Garet's birthday! We took a trip to CS and visited a really cool park, had a picnic and went to Amadson's Logoon for the day! It was HOT, but the water felt great! The boys had a great time and came home pooped!

The birthday boy informed me that he was over half way to twenty! WOW! You just don't remind a mother of that! Am I old enough to have a son this age? I must have had him when I was 10!

Saundra was the photographer here. She refused to have her pic taken! Some of you know how hard headed she can be! XOXO! Thanks for helping me with the boys! I enjoyed your

Our faithfulness, or lack of it, will have an overwhelming impact on the heritage of our children.

I'm so grateful for this special gift of mine... Garet Rose!

The boys and I are headed to Abilene to see my sweet sister and her adorable family!
We get to meet our newest member of the family...Mr. Canon!
When I say the boys and I, I mean.... me, Garet and Peyton!
I've never been on a road trip this far with no other adults!
I really don't know what interstate to head to first and I can't read maps!

HELP!!! This SOCKS!!!

We have this honkin problem here in the Rose household!
Everytime I do laundry...
I end up with this issue and it really SOCKS!!!!
Where the heck do they go?
I have like 20 socks without partners!
It's like we have a scary sock monster lurking around that knows exactly when I do a load of white socks!
Maybe I should call the exterminator!
Do you think Mr. Richard would assume I've lost my marbles?
We are NOT out of toilet paper at the moment!
We haven't put on a puppet show lately!
I haven't tied anyone up and gagged them today!
I'm still a B cup and haven't stuffed recently!
The boys are way too young for stuffing!
Maybe it's.... AUBURN!
Maybe he has a stuffing addiction!
Poor thing!

Meal In One Summertime Squash Casserole

Look at all of those potaters! Grandpa Bailey says potaters and tomaters! Cracks me up!
Yes, the back of the truck is full of new potatoes!
My sweet friend, Pam and the HUGE squash!

Peyton and Daniel in Grandpa Bailey's garden. Folks, this is not in Iowa, this is right across the street! His garden in simply amazing!

Several of you have asked for this recipe this week. So, I decided I would post it and you could print it off!
Summertime Squash Recipe

Boil squash and onions until barely tender. (It takes several large squash and a large onion)

Drain well and salt and pepper to taste.

Brown 1 lb. ground beef.

Mix all of the following together with the above ingredients. ( You need a large pot! )

1 stick butter
1 can rotel
1 can diced tomatoes
1 can chopped green chillies
1 can crm. celery, chicken or mushroom ( We use celery!)
1 cup grated cheese or Velveeta ( We used Velveeta ~ the whole thing! Yum!)

Stir until cheese melts and soups are heated.

Put into greased 9x13 dish.

Top with bread crumbs and lots of cheese.

Drizzle butter on top. ( When Mom and I made this, ours was alittle watery. We didn't do the butter. Just use your own judgement.)

Bake 350 for 30 minutes! Enjoy! Thanks Aunt Freida for the yummy recipe!

Stay tuned this weekend for yummy blackberry recipes...thanks to my sweet friend Denise!

Yeehaw!!! Celebrating at Texas Burger! I'm soooo grateful!

"What the heck is this?"

Funny story~ My lovely coworkers played a horrible joke on me! It had to do with me jello wrestling in my red yard sale outfit! (See yard sale on my sidebar) So, my sweet husband and crazy friends decided to put boxes of jello in ALL of my gifts! Very funny guys!
Almost 20 boxes to be exact!

My Mom's specialty... chocolate sheet cake! Sheet cake girls, not sh_t!!! Tee-Hee!!!

Muah!!! Love Ya!!!

I really don't mind growing older, as long as I get to grow older with special family and friends like these!

I pray that God blesses me with many more birthdays! I hope that my life will always be a blessing to others around me!
Life is good!

Class of 2008

Shane and his very proud Mom!

Celebrating Shane's graduation!

(sniff!! sniff!!)

I met Cherie 8 years ago and Shane was in the 5th grd. The same grade that Garet is in! I can't even begin to tell you how fast these 8 yrs. have gone by! Watching Shane grow into a young man has been so rewarding! I just know that God has a special plan for this guy! It just makes me sad because I realize it won't be long and Garet will be there! It just seems like a blink of an eye! We are so proud of you Shane! Good luck in everything that you do! The Rose family looks forward to celebrating many more milestones with you and your precious family!

Summertime, Summertime, Good Ole Summertime!

Woo~Hoo!!! Summer is here!
