A Wonderful Weekend!
It was like 10 below 0 and the wind was blowing 100 mph!!!
Our first cold front here in Texas!
Fri. night I went to another paint party while my boys camped out in a tent all night long!
They froze their patookies off, but had a great time!
I had the whole house to myself!
I had the warm bed all to myself!
I slept ALL NIGHT LONG!
I even got to sleep in until 8:30 with NO interruptions! Yahoo!
I drank lots of coffee with Pumpkin Spice creamer! Yummo!!!
We ate a BIG pot of chicken~n~dumplings! Made by my husband...even better!!!
Watched Alvin and the Chipmunks for the first time! My children have watched it
1,486,545 times!

Happy birthday Cherie Berry!!!
She is one of my nearest and dearest friends!
I'm celebrating her today...it's her birthday!!!
Over the years, I've had the privilege of seeing her raise her babies!
She is such a wonderful mom!
Wise beyond her years!
She is my partner in crime!
She still knows how to have FUN at 4_!!!!
Real food fights in the house and wrestling with her 18 year old son in the yard!
She has more energy than any one person I know!
She's so talented! She is so selfless! So thoughtful! So loving!
She's beautiful on the inside and out!!

We have laughed, cried, laughed until we cried, argued, peed, partied, shopped!!!
No matter how busy, hectic or crazy life may get...I know I have a sweet friend!!!
I'm so glad that God created this sweet friend of mine 4_ years ago!
Happy birthday my friend!
I love you!

Honoring Our Veterans...
Thank you!
I almost forgot...yesterday was the Marine Corp Birthday! This is one day that won't go unnoticed around the Rose home! It ranks right on up there with Christmas, Thanksgiving and Easter for Auburn! He was receiving text messages at 5:00AM from Marine buddies! They don't always remember each other's birthdays, but the phone is ringing on this day!
Semper~Fi!!!
Auburn's brother, Matthew, was just deployed to Iraq for his fourth tour! We have NOT forgotten you Matt! We pray for your safety everyday! In fact, you were the topic of conversation around the dinner table tonight! We love you! Thank you for fighting for our freedom!
Freedom is not Free
by Ashley Persyn
There is a price we pay for freedom
For it is not truly free
But rather paid for by the contributions of veterans
To buy our liberty
As their blood drains from their body and runs like a river through the grass
Over the years it's forgotten, war is placed in our past
I don't think we all realize the importance veterans play
as they voluntarily serve America each and every day
We should honor the veterans for they act like a shield
Protecting us from danger, keeping America healed.
So if you would take a second to commemorate
You will instantly see
We owe veterans our gratitude
For they are the reason we are free.

Excuse me...5:30 AM...WHAT???
Someone had the bright idea of getting up and walking in the mornings at 5:30 AM and it wasn't me! You see, I'm not much of a morning person and I'm not much of an exercising person! That say "someone" says it's going to make us feel so energized and healthy and we are going to shed some unwanted pounds!!! It ain't happenin yet!
BUT, for the record....this chick has walked 4 mornings in a row!
Count them...
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday!!!
Yes Sireee!!!
I keep my phone close in case I need to call 911!
"Hey! Wait up girls!!!"
Do you know how much fun it is to keep up with those LONG FREAKIN legs?
I LIKE BIG BUTTS AND I CAN NOT LIE!!!!
Cherie worked it so hard that she was glistening!!!!
No, it wasn't sweat.....we got rained on!
It started to mist and I said, " Oh no! It's going to rain and my hair is going to be a fro!" The girls said, " Carrie, it's just a little rain! It's not going to KILL you!" So, I thought ..."Your right! If my butt got out of bed at 5:30 to walk...rain is not going to STOP me!" Well, it started to pour and we had rain running down our scalp. It was raining into our eyes and into our nose! Need less to say, Denise and Cherie said "It's RAINING!" And we stopped because they said so!
They didn't have to be at work at 8:00 and I did!
OK...I'll stop griping!
If I don't stop griping, they may tie me to a tree or push my in a ditch somewhere!
Lacy, will you listen for me?

Give Me Jesus...
Good morning.
OK... The election thing didn't go quite like I had hoped and prayed.
I'm a little sad this morning.
I'm a little disappointed.
I'm a little worried...a little scared.
And then I heard this song by Jeremy Camp!
Go listen to it! You can have this world...I just want Jesus!
God is in control!
The wonderful thing about being a Christian is the hope, faith and TRUST we have in Jesus Christ!
He knew all along that Obama would be our next Pres. It's no surprise to him...it's apart of his plan!
So...don't be discouraged! We have VICTORY in Jesus Christ!
My 11 year old son woke up and cried when he heard the news this morning! We had to have a HUGE pep talk! We can't live in fear and saying "What if..."
Be encouraged my friend! We are all in this together!
XOXO!
