Mr. Ike heads to The Gulf.... are you prepared?
Since my husband's job sends him out into these horrible storms to repair electricity... we are watching The Gulf closely this week! Watching, waiting and preparing!
Afew weeks ago, I visited one of my favorite blogs....The Homespun Heart and was motivated to be a better PREPARER. Not to wait until you are in a crisis to prepare! It is our job as mothers and wives to prepare and keep our home stocked and ready! Please go visit Monica and read her Aug. 19th post! (I don't know how to link directly!) You won't be sorry! She will bless your socks off! She's one of my best friends...she just doesn't know it!

Hi Carrie!
Thank you for the link and especially your kind words. I tell you - I am so blessed through blogging to be able to have such treasured and godly friends!
I appreciate you!
Monica
I just took a look at Monica's blog and as I was trying to find the post you were referring to but I came across another post.....surviving or thriving??? Oh my, did I ever need that word today. Having a newborn has set me over board into surviving most days if not every. My attitude was completed changed from the moment I read that post. Isn't it funny how God works. Here I was looking for that post (which I did find) and I come across another that God intended for me to read at that very moment. Monica, if you read this I'm Carrie's sister and would love to refer to that particular post on my blog. Could I do that? I haven't read much of your blog Monica but what I read today was God breathed right into my home at a time that I so desperately needed it most. Blogging is such a blessing!
I am back! I had no internet and man was it rough!
hello Carrie, I had already started admiring your blog and put you as one of My Favs...I look forward to meeting you too...that same "little birdie" spoke of you as well ;-) I've had the pleasure of being around the Winter family a couple of times now and they've definitely grown on me!! Take care and feel free to keep in touch!

Oh Lord...I'm scared.
Carrie, my hubby is in cajun country also. And will not come home for Ike,so i will be riding this one out myselfwith the kiddos. So, you are so right about being prepared. But God can reveal himself in times like these. Let's watch out for Him!!!
