Thumbs up dinner.....

I was going to participate in Tasty Tuesdays over at Balancing Beauty and Bedlam today, but she is down for maintenance! Bummer!
BUT, I have a very easy and wonderful kid friendly recipe for you!
I found it over at Pillsbury! They have a free newsletter you can sign up for!
They have great ideas and recipes!

Pillsbury Taco Melts ~ Yummo!!!
INGREDIENTS

1 package (1 oz) Old El Paso® taco seasoning mix

2/3cup water

1 1/2 cups Old El Paso® Thick 'n Chunky salsa

1 lb lean (at least 80%) ground beef, cooked, drained

1 can (16.3 oz) Pillsbury® Grands!® refrigerated biscuits (any variety)

1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese or Mexican cheese blend (4 oz)

1 cup sour cream, if desired
DIRECTIONS

1. Heat oven to 375°F.

2. In medium saucepan, cook taco seasoning mix, water, 1/2 cup of the salsa and cooked ground beef until thickened.

3. Press each biscuit into 6-inch round. Fill each with taco mixture and 1 tablespoon cheese. Fold dough over filling and press to seal. Place on greased cookie sheet.

4. Bake 9 to 14 minutes or until golden brown. Serve with remaining salsa, cheese and sour cream.

I'm NOT a food photographer, so....don't judge me!
These were the cutest things!
My boys LOVED this new twist to tacos!
One of my sons eats everything in the house and the other one is picky!
The picky son said it was wonderful!
I've been searching for new recipe ideas on various blogs and have found a few blogs that I love!
You need to visit $5 Dinner blog and Finding Joy In My Kitchen!!! These ladies have some fabulous recipes!
I LOVE new recipes! Especially this time of the year!
Let me know what you find!

Treasure Boxes and Cockroaches???

Here in the deep South, we really have these creators called cockroaches!
They are HUGE!!!
They are NASTY!!!
I absolutely HATE them!!!!
So, I have to ask.....Why do little boys LOVE them???
I just don't get it!
(I'm so glad I took a picture of this because we have a roach story to tell! haha)
Last week my little guy comes home from school all excited!
"Mom, I got to go to the treasure box today!"
We did the happy dance!
I asked, " What did you pick out of the treasure box?"
My little guy replies, "A roach, but not just any roach Mom! A Cockroach!!!"
My happy dance was replaced with the hibbie jibbies!
This cockroach looked so real!
He kept laying it around and it freaked me out every time and I knew it wasn't real!
I'm such a girl!
We had the best idea that night before we went to bed! Dad wasn't home and hadn't met Mr. Cockroach yet! So, we put him in the sheets on Dad's side of the bed! haha!!! Dad came home late and we were all asleep! Dad slept with the roach and didn't find him until the next morning and boy was it funny! The following morning, Dad jumps out of bed throwing Mr. Roach across the room! I've never seen him move that fast! He runs to the bathroom, grabs a Kleenex and flushes Mr. Roach! I knew that he had found him, but I didn't know he was going to go to the extreme of flushing him!!!!
The first thing my little guy asked when he got up was, "Hey Dad...How did you like my cockroach?"
Need less to stay, Daddy got to go to the treasure box and Peyton never knew!

A quote for your day.....

A woman is like a tea bag, you can't tell how strong she is until you put her in hot water!
~Nancy Reagan~
I love this!
Happy Friday!
Hope you have a good one!
I've already dropped my last egg on the kitchen floor....the one I was going to eat and I've burnt my toast! Yikes! I hope this day gets better for me!

A fun filled Labor Day weekend!

The Rose gang traveled to San Antonio this weekend....all 14 of us!
We went to the River Center Mall and enjoyed a riverboat ride!
Our boat was FULL!!!
The river tour was beautiful!
The guys hanging out!
I'm just noticing Peyton giving bunny ears...ha!
Saturday we all went to Sea World!
We had a super duper time minus the Labor Day crowd!
Grammy was a trooper!
We pushed her around in the wheel chair all day and she never complained!
Peyton gets to pet a baby alligator...yikes!
The shows were amazing!
It's been several years since I've been to Seaworld and I almost forgot how magical the shows are! Very exciting!
There is just something crazy about my 5 yr. old and roller coasters!!!
He has no fear!
We met Shamu!!!!
There was too much excitement for this little guy!
Right before we headed to The Lost Lagoon for the evening a little rain scared the crowds away! Our kiddos had a ball on all of the water slides.....all by themselves!!!!
No crowd!
No lines!
It was great!!!!

Saturday night we went to The Magic Time Machine!
Have you ever been there???
It was our first time and boy was it a treat!!!
Jack Sparrow, Harry Potter and Ace Ventura were our waiters for the night!!!
Our evening was full of entertainment!!!
Harry Potter really liked giving Garet a hard time!
He gave him a facial and "shaved" him clean!!!
Picked his boogers and all....you know, boy stuff!!!
Yes....at the dinner table!!!
Carnell got a little too personal with Jack Sparrow and the grapes!
We all got "secret potion" punch!!!
Our drinks were SMOKIN!!!
Have you ever eaten somewhere where they throw food at you and you have to catch?
Not just rolls.....they were throwing corn on the cob, ribs, chicken.....
My boys were in heaven!
I'm a germaphobe and I was a little freaked out...just a little!!!!
Yes, this is my oldest on a table!!!!
Jack Sparrow prepared him to be the pig for our feast! This incident ended with a wedgy fight!
Ace Ventura!!!
Thanks James and Angela for introducing us to such a fun place!
I love historical sites and I love breakfast!
If you ever have the chance to visit San Antoniio, you must have breakfast or brunch at The Guenther House!
The Guenther's were the founding family of Pioneer flour!
This historical home is beautiful and they have delicious food!!!
I love to bake so this was a treat for ME!!!!
The home has a great gift shop!
Look....FALL GOODIES!!!!
My little domestic goddess in training!!!!
Look at those biscuits folks!!!
Yumm~O!!!!
We couldn't go visit San Antonio without visiting The Alamo!!!
The grounds at The Alamo are GORGEOUS!!!
Makes me want to work in the yard!!!
I loved our tour!
It was a great weekend!
Fast....furious....lots of fun!!!!
Hope you are having a great LONG weekend!!!
I'm now unloading, unpacking, doing loads of laundry and baking!!!
So glad for a short week ahead!!

Saying "Good~Bye" to Summer and "Hello" to a new school year!!!

Saying Good~bye to fishing on Monday nights!
Peyton caught 4 this particular evening! Lucky guy!
Saying Good~bye to nice, quiet evenings!
Saying Good~bye to my coffee partner!
Peyton is the only one who will drink coffee with me around here! I sure miss him!
I guess his teacher probably wouldn't appreciate him drinking coffee and going to school! HA!
Saying Good~bye to summer sunsets!

Saying Good~bye to HOT summer days spent in the pool!!!!
Saying Good~bye to our secret summer spot!
Saying Good~bye to sand, waves and sun!!!
Auburn sure was a trooper!
He was buried alive!!!
Brotherly love!
Saying Good~bye to sandcastles!
My hubby did pretty good, huh?
The summer went by way too fast!
We have been through a lot this summer! Not fun stuff! Dealing with sickness, death and divorce is NOT fun!!! Hoping for a happier season in life!!!
We didn't get to go on vacation due to various things going on, but we made the most of the time we had together!
Hello Kindergarten!!!
Peyton headed to Kindergarten!!!! He is so ready!!!!
Hello early mornings!!!
Early to bed.....early to rise!!!! They look tired, huh???
Hello Jr. High!!!
Garet headed to Jr. High!
We had a great first week! Both of the boys are loving school! I hope we finish the year with this much excitement, enthusiasm and energy! New schools, new teachers, new friends, new goals, new activities, new desires....don't you just love new beginnings???
Speaking of new desires....I was able to be apart of Beth Moore's simulcast this past weekend!!!
Beth Moore ROCKS!!! I was soooo blessed!!!!
I've been down in the dumps lately and boy did I need to hear what she had to say!
It was a message of hope, encouragement and renewal!!!
"Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart."
Psalms 37:4
I turned my computer off for 4 days. (gasp....I know!)
I've been still and quiet and focusing on the desires of my heart!
Hope you are having a good week friends!
XOXO!!!
