From the couch to a 5K in 9 wks......

OK....let's talk!
I hate exercise...hate it!!!
Always have!!!
BUT, I'm reaching an age where I just don't have much of a choice!!! Before babies, I was little bitty!!! Not anymore and I know that it's because of my lack of exercise! I have been really hard on myself lately and to top it off....my whole family is running and training for marathons!!! On both sides....my sister~n~law, husband, sister, brother~n~law and soon to be sister~n~law (hopefully)!!!!! Everyone is running and I'm feeling a bit left out!!!
So, I'm giving into peer pressure!!!
I have been walking regularly for the past few weeks...2 & 3 miles.
(drum roll please!)
Today I started....from the couch to a 5K in 9 wks!!!
This is a training program that my sister used and swears by it!!!
Go to here and check it out!
OK....who's going to join me?????
HELLO.....anyone?????
Mushroom Festival is in 8 wks.!!!!
Denise and I have found a house where they run the sprinklers in the mornings.....perfect for beginning runners!!!! HA! Denise did it this morning...I may join her tomorrow!!!

Trying to laugh to keep from crying.....

These two = trouble!!!
You never know what they may do!
This past weekend was my Grandma's funeral. Friday night was visitation and this was Peyton and Cole's first funeral to attend.
Considering the circumstances, the visitation went well. The environment was peaceful, lots of visiting with old friends and family and we even had our old family movies playing! The sweet people at the funeral home made the boys right at home....putting them in a room with bowls of candy and plates of cookies.
During visitation, someone noticed Peyton and Cole (my nephew) sneaking through the room, peeking over the casket and running out. They didn't act scared or worried...they looked like they were up to something. They were running back to the room with all of the goodies and laying perfectly still on the couch! Their eyes were closed and someone asked what they were doing. They said, "Playing dead like Grandma!"
Oh my!
I just want to say "Thank You" to all of my sweet friends who have gone out of their way to be the "hands and feet" of Jesus!
I'm blessed!

We have been on pins and needles! His flight was due yesterday and never showed up!!! We really went to bed last night not knowing where he was! He was on "lock down" and we did not know it! We are so grateful for his arrival!!! It was important for him to see his Mom...soon!!!

Tests showed that Dorothy had a mild stroke two weeks ago. She is still holding her own! It's been 2 yrs. since she has seen Matt! What a great reunion!!!
Welcome home Matt!!!
Grandma update~
My Grandma is still hangin in there! We have had an exhausting week! (My poor Mom!) There really has been no change. The hospice nurse comes in tomorrow and we are anxious to hear what she has to say! Thanks to all of you who have called, emailed and asked about her!

And my AC is on it's last leg!!!
Yesterday, the darn thing froze up!!! It was 89 inside my house!!! I was a BEAR!!! For real!!! We have been thinking about camping in a tent! Well, I failed the tent test!!!! No camping in Texas during the summer for me!!! These boys can go without me or wait until it cools off! Afew weeks ago, I saw a church sign that read, " If you think this is HOT....what is HELL gonna be like?" Well, I thought about that yesterday!!! HA!
So, we will be getting a new AC in our near future! Maybe next summer!!! Yippy Skippy!!!
