Prayers needed....

This little love bug is having a really HARD time!
Baby Jaxon has bronchial pneumonia on top of RSV. He's only 7 wks. old. His little body hasn't responded to two rounds of antibiotics. The Dr. are running tests this morning to determine if there is something else going on. They are trying to see if there is a reason his body isn't responding to the medication.
He is tired and worn out...as is his beautiful mom, Whitney. Please pray for this sweet family. Even if it is just one little prayer! Prayer makes all of the difference in the world!

Laundry Soap Verdict....

Several of you have commented and emailed wanting to know how the soap turned out!

Well, I haven't used mine yet b/c I'm finishing up my store detergent.

The homemade laundry soap is concentrate. So, you need a container!

I may not try it until sometime next week.

But, my partner in crime....Denise, experimented with her homemade laundry soap yesterday.

She tried it out on her sheets.

We were hesitant about using the Lavender essential oil with the Ivory bar.

The soap smelled really fresh and clean without the oils. We weren't sure what Ivory and Lavender would smell like. She washed her sheets with the soap and didn't use her fabric softener. There was NO smell. They were clean, but had no smell. So, we are going to try adding the oil next time. We think that may be what it takes to get the smell!

So, if you are trying this at home....let us know how yours is turning out!

It may be a trial and error thing until we get it figured out!

Will someone just pick up the phone and call Mrs. Duggar already?

Duggar Family Laundry Soap!!!!

Do you like the Duggar family?
I have become addicted to this show!!!
Not because I want to have 18 kids or anything...I just love to see how Mrs. Duggar does what she does! She is a great mom! Her organization amazes me!!!! How do you run a household with that many people...and stay sane? How do you afford to have that many children?
Well, I don't want anymore kids....BUT, I do believe we can incorporate some of their cost effective living right here at the Rose household! I would really love to save money any way I can this year!
I watched an episode where all of the girls in the house were making their laundry soap and all of their cleaners! I thought, "WOW! I can do that!" This is all natural...no chemicals and it's cheap! It was unbelievable!!! So, Denise and I have made our own Duggar Laundry Soap! We are so excited to share it with you!
The first step is to fill your 5 gallon bucket half way with hot water!

Denise will have food that taste like Ivory forever! I'm glad we did this at her house!

Here's the ingredients!!!!!

Here is my cute 5 gallon soap bucket!
We now have soap to last us FOREVER!!!!
Yeah...I saved us some money honey!
Can't wait to try it out!

Duggar Family Laundry Soap Recipe!

TIPS FOR LAUNDRY SOAP: We use Fels-Naptha bar soap in the homemade soap recipes, but you can use Ivory, Sunlight, Kirk's Hardwater Castile or Zote bars. Don't use heavily perfumed soaps. We buy Fels-Naptha by the case from our local grocer or online. Washing Soda and Borax can normally be found on the laundry or cleaning aisle. Recipe cost approx. $2.
Homemade Liquid Laundry Soap- Front or top load machine- best value
4 Cups hot tap water1 Fels-Naptha soap bar1 Cup Washing Soda½ Cup Borax
- Grate bar of soap and add to saucepan with water. Stir continually over medium-low heat until soap dissolves and is melted.
-Fill a 5 gallon bucket half full of hot tap water. Add melted soap, washing soda and Borax. Stir well until all powder is dissolved. Fill bucket to top with more hot water. Stir, cover and let sit overnight to thicken.
-Stir and fill a used, clean, laundry soap dispenser half full with soap and then fill rest of way with water. Shake before each use. (will gel)
-Optional: You can add 10-15 drops of essential oil per 2 gallons. Add once soap has cooled. Ideas: lavender, rosemary, tea tree oil.
-Yield: Liquid soap recipe makes 10 gallons.
-Top Load Machine- 5/8 Cup per load (Approx. 180 loads)
-Front Load Machines- ¼ Cup per load (Approx. 640 loads)

Welcome 2009!

We brought in the new year at the Morris home with sweet friends! Auburn and I taught everyone our new favorite game...31!!! We ended up with 3 different tables of folks playing! It was FUN!!!
31 all night long! All night! All night long! Uh~Huh!
You are just suppose to KNOCK, not do a little dance with your pennies!
Family Feud anyone???

"Help me here!!!!"
Things got ugly and Auburn accused us of CRYING!!!!
The guys breezed through this round! They had all of the easy questions with a HIGH score!

Cherie is in deep thought! She is trying to help us girls and trust me...we needed a lot of help!

OK...things got a little violent and we had to quite!

The little people were still going strong at midnight!
